At least 15 killed after two Afghan air force helicopters collided in Nawa district

Two Afghan air force helicopters, on October 13, collided in Nawa district in the southern province of Helmand, Afghanistan, killing at least 15 people, said the security sources.

According to the reports, the incident took place in Nawa-i-Barakzayi district, southwest of the provincial capital Lashkar Gah, at midnight Tuesday.

In past month, on September 24, two pilots were killed after an Afghan Air Force attack helicopter crashed due to technical failure in northern Baghlan province.

The province has been a witness to heavy clashes in recent days after hundreds of Taliban from two neighbouring provinces joined hands with local militants and tried to capture Lashkar Gah.
