At least 11 people were killed in an attack carried out by an ISIS group on a lookout point west of Baghdad. The attack was manned by a state-sponsored tribal force, the security forces said. Apart from them, eight others were wounded who were immediately transferred to a hospital in central Baghdad.
“ISIS attacked the monitoring tower, killing five members of the tribal Hashed and six local people who had come to help repel the attack,” a security source informed, adding further, that the jihadists threw grenades and fired on the tribal Hashed forces stationed at Al-Radwaniyah that lies on the southern outskirts of the Iraqi capital, near the Baghdad airport.
However, no immediate claims were made by the ISIS.
It must be noted that after a fierce 3-year fight backed by the US-led coalition, Iraq declared to have defeated ISIS in late 2017.
